The Spanish and Italian sport media are bursting with excitement regarding possible swap deals between Barcelona and Juventus this summer.
It’s thought that given the Covid-19 situation and the financial impact on football, many clubs will be looking to bring transfer costs down by including their players in deals.
Barcelona have Jean Claire Todibo, currently on loan at Schalke, as one such player they could include in moves for Juve signings, and from other clubs, however, it’s claimed Everton are also interested.
Catalan newspaper Sport say Everton have offered a €25m package for the player, which consists of €22m upfront plus a further €3m in bonuses. That offer is described as ‘very attractive’, but Barcelona would rather use Todibo in a deal with Juve.
Sport state Barca value the defender at €20m, which would make Everton’s offer look even better.
Everton have done several pieces of business with Barcelona in recent years, so it’s no surprise if the lines of communication remain open. Despite that, it doesn’t make a great deal of sense for Barca to dismiss this approach, especially given the value.
There’s the chance the Premier League club are being used to hype Todibo’s value.
