Normally linked with half of Serie A, Everton are also looking outside of Italy for summer reinforcements, including Ligue 1.
Gabriel Magalhães has been targeted as a potential centre-back option going forward, and Ouest-France are now reporting the Toffees are interested in Angers SCO’s Angelo Fulgini to bolster their midfield.
The story was published on Wednesday, and it comes amid speculation of whether or not the Abidjan born former France U21 international will sign a new contract with the Ligue 1 side.
The club’s director of football, Sébastien Larcier, has made it clear it’s their intention to try and keep their 23-year-old, but it could all come down to what the player wants.
It’s explained that while the stats aren’t there with his one goal and one assist in 20 league games, Fulgini’s season has been a good one, confirming his clear potential, and all that despite missing the first five games through injury.
This hasn’t gone unnoticed, and Ouest-France report the midfielder first got approached by Bordeaux, which was quickly followed by two ‘concrete offers’ from Saint-Étienne and Everton.
Said offers ‘have not left him indifferent’, and Fulgini could represent a great coup for the Toffees, as Ouest-France explain his value on today’s transfer market would be between €4-5m.
His contract with Angers SCO runs out in 2021, meaning that if they can’t convince him to extend, they might have to cash in sooner rather than later.
