Everton look set to miss out on the signing of striker El Bilal Toure from Almeria, with him ‘getting closer’ to joining Atalanta.
That’s according to journalists Marc Mechenoua and Sacha Tavolieri, who both say the striker is looking likely to move to Italy this summer.
The former reports that El Bilal Toure is ‘ever closer’ to a move to Atalanta after a series of long and difficult negotiations between the two sides.
The finer details are still to be settled on the deal, particularly when it comes to bonuses included in the transfer, which is set to exceed €30m with those bonuses included.
Tavolieri backs this up, stating that El Bilal Toure ‘will play for Atalanta’ next season and has always prioritised them above Everton.
His choice has always been to play in Serie A, but the deal has been made complicated by the numerous intermediaries involved in the deal.
Atalanta have pushed on regardless, though, and are now settling on the final details of the deal which should cost €30m, despite the two clubs reaching a €25m verbal agreement earlier this month.
The two clubs are now holding a final meeting in order to close the final details of the transfer and take the striker out of the hands of Everton in the process.
