Almost entirely relying on Dominic-Calvert Lewin for goals, Everton appear to be in the process of looking for a suitable backup, as Richarlison continues to be primarily deployed down the wing by Carlo Ancelotti.

It’s been a successful method so far, as the England international has found the back of the net 11 times in 12 appearances, most recently in a 1-1 draw against Burnley, but what happens if/when this purple patch comes to an end?

That’s why seeing them interested in Stade de Reims’ Boulaye Dia is anything but a shock, as the Senegal international braces himself for what could be a flurry of offers in the coming month.

According to Le10 Sport, no fewer than four clubs are interested in his services, excluding Brighton, who wanted him in the summer, including Everton.

The website explain Marseille, in need of a striker, have been after him for a year, while Lyon, should either Memphis Depay or Moussa Dembélé leave, ‘aren’t excluded’ from the mix.

As for the Premier League interest, it’s between Arsenal and Everton, who have both ‘recently positioned themselves’ and have far great financial means than the two Ligue 1 sides.

It’s one to watch going forward, since a fee of around €12-15m, which is more than affordable, is all that is needed to convince Reims, who will happily sell if the right offer comes along.
