Last month, reports coming out of Italy stated Everton have an interest in AC Milan’s Rafael Leão.

Calciomercato now state the Serie A side have confidence in the 22-year-old’s qualities, which is why they haven’t made him available in the market.

The Portuguese is managed by Jorge Mendes and the super-agent was in Italy last week, where he met officials of several clubs.

During the meeting with the Milan leaders, the representative ‘anticipated the arrival of several important offers’ for the former Sporting man.

It’s claimed ‘all the clues lead to the Premier League’, where Everton have ‘long been interest’ in Leão.

Milan haven’t opened the door for the player’s sale, and their chief, Paolo Maldini, will only consider offers over €30m for the attacker.

Everton, for their part, are yet to name Carlo Ancelotti’s successors, but  multiple reports from the British press state Nuno Espírito Santo is the favourite candidate to land the job.

Like Leão, the former Wolves manager is also represented by the Portuguese super-agent, and the Milan player could be Mendes’ first gift to Nuno, if he manages to land the Everton job.
