FC Porto manager Sérgio Conceição is reportedly among Everton’s options to take charge of the club in the next season.
According to Portuguese newspaper Diário de Notícias, the Dragons’ boss is in a list which includes his compatriots Marco Silva and Paulo Fonseca.
Everton are said to be unhappy with Sam Allardyce’s campaign after replacing Ronald Koeman, via David Unsworth, this season, and with the failure to get a Europa League spot, the English manager should be sacked.
Conceição has been shortlisted because of his ‘rigor and discipline’ when training Porto, and also for winning the Portuguese league in a season where the club basically didn’t have any investment on signings.
Diário de Notícias claims that no contacts were made from Everton so far. The manager is said to be giving Porto some priority for next season, but is set to meet club president Pinto da Costa and ask for more reinforcements in the transfer window.
Maybe Everton links are no coincidence of timing.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan are also interested in him, and could be providing Everton some competition.
