Former Everton forward Graeme Sharp has urged the fans to be patient following a recent dip in form. The Merseyside club haven’t won in their last two Premier League games, which has seen Ronald Koeman’s side drop to 7th in the Premier League table.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Sharp was asked about Everton’s recent form, and the reaction the team received after the Swansea City game. Sharp said the Goodison Park faithful need to be like the manager and owners by showing more patience with the team.
The 1985 European Cup Winners Cup winner believes Koeman knows he has a big task making Everton into a major force, but thinks they should hang on in there because of the Dutchman’s credentials.
“The fans need to be patient. The manager is patient and the owners are also patient. The manager knows what a big job it is. Everton need to hang in there, they have an excellent manager,” said the Everton legend.
The Everton players were met with boos from some sections of the crowd following last weekend’s home draw with Swansea City. The disappointing draw with Swansea City came after their 5-0 loss to Chelsea in their previous league game, and now Koeman needs to get his team back on track following a promising start to the season.
