Everton are among the ‘most interested’ clubs for Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, but unfortunately, he is not keen on the switch to Goodison Park.
The defender is widely expected to leave Napoli this summer, with both him and the club agreeing now is the time for him to move on.
A plethora of clubs around Europe have been linked with making a move, as is always the case when a top talent becomes available.
Everton have been named among his suitors, with it believed Carlo Ancelotti was seeking a reunion with the defender who starred under him during his time at the Italian club.
Calciomercato confirm that is the case, saying that the Blues are ‘ready to submit’ an important offer for the defender, who has a ‘special relationship’ with Ancelotti.
Unfortunately, it seems if they do make that bid, they’ll face disappointment as Koulibaly is not keen on joining Everton.
According to the website, the player is only ready to leave Napoli if it is for a ‘top club’ that can guarantee him European football, aka Champions League football.
He is targeting Europe’s elite, namely Liverpool, PSG, Barcelona and Real Madrid and thus at the moment, a move to the likes of Everton is ‘not so attractive’.
That doesn’t mean they’re out of the running just yet; just that should it come to a choice, they will not be at the top of the defender’s list. In fact, they seem to be quite far from it.
