Everton have been in touch with Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira for ‘some time’, and he is keen on the move to England.
That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who say the German is determined to try his hand at the Premier League after deciding to leave Italy.
Khedira is currently not a part of Andrea Pirlo’s plans, and Juventus are keen to get him, and his high wage packet, off of the books.
A termination has been mooted for several weeks, but it’s been made clear that the midfielder wants to sort his next move before accepting that.
He has subsequently been linked with a reunion with Carlo Ancelotti at Everton, the pair having previously worked together at Real Madrid.
And Gazzetta say that is very much on the cards, explaining that Khedira is ‘on a mission’ to take care of himself and sort out a new club.
He wants to try the Premier League, and Everton are ‘definitely in the running’ because Ancelotti is a fan of the player.
Indeed, he has been in touch with his former star for some time about a potential move, suggesting the groundwork is already being done ahead of January.
There’s no mention of whether Khedira would welcome the move, although it’s hard to see him turning down a second chance to play under Ancelotti if it’s the best Premier League offer on the table.
Either way, this is a rumour that is seemingly driving towards a very clear conclusion; Khedira moving to Goodison Park at some point in January.
