Everton are the latest club to be linked with Barcelona’s Paco Alcacer.

The Premier League club have of course been linked previously, but the more recent reports have been about Southampton interest.

Dating back to last summer and through the winter transfer window, Southampton were said to be the English club most keen on the player, but they don’t even get a mention in Saturday’s report from Mundo Deportivo.

Everton are presented as the club who want to sign the former Valencia striker, but once again it’s explained that he doesn’t want to leave Barcelona just yet.

The 24 year old believes he can be useful to Barca, even more so because the signing of Antoine Griezmann failed, with the Frenchman remaining at Atletico Madrid.

Alcacer wants more minutes but isn’t of the mind that he’ll threaten to leave to help get them.

The only way Alcacer would make the move and agree to a transfer, to Everton or anywhere else, is if Barcelona’s manager, Ernesto Valverde, told him he doesn’t want him in the squad.
