Jean-Clair Todibo has struggled for minutes at Barcelona and has managed only 167 minutes across three appearances in all competitions this season.
Over the past few days, several reports have come out of Spain about Southampton and Watford’s interest in the centre-back. Mundo Deportivo reported on Wednesday the Saints and the Hornets have submitted a proposal for the 20-year-old.
The same newspaper now explains that Everton are included in the list of suitors for the Frenchman.
Southampton and Watford once again get a mention, along with AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen and AS Monaco.
In the ‘last few hours’, the Merseyside club, Hertha Berlin and Schalke have joined other clubs who are interested in the defender.
Mundo reported yesterday the La Liga winners would ideally prefer a loan or a sale with a buyback option.
However, the latest report on Todibo states Barca’s plan is to allow their player go out only on a dry loan deal (without the inclusion of purchase option) to a club where he can feature regularly.
Todibo’s future could be resolved on or before January 10th.
It remains to be seen whether or not Everton can overcome competition to acquire Todibo’s services on a temporary deal. They have been linked previously, only to drop out of reports and reappear today.
