With the focus now on the summer transfer window, we’re already preparing ourselves for the transfer rumours that are likely to re-emerge. One of those will surely be Isco to Everton.

The Spanish midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park over the last year, with the success of James Rodriguez seemingly paving the way for it to happen.

It’s believed he is in search of regular playing time away from Real Madrid, where he has fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane and barely features.

Everton, like they’ve done with Rodriguez, could offer him that and the chance to work under Carlo Ancelotti, a manager who showed plenty of faith in him during his time in charge of the Bernabeu.

It was felt that a move was likely in January and there were plenty of rumours about moves but, ultimately, Everton only signed Josh King, and Isco stayed where he was as Martin Odegaard moved to Arsenal.

He remains unhappy, though, and now reports in Spain are indicating that a move in the summer is very much in the cards.

First, there is Marca, who say that despite there being only 13 first-team players available at Madrid at the moment, Isco can’t find a place under Zidane.

He’s made it clear he’s not happy, something Madrid are more than aware of after the player told them back in November that he wanted to leave.

This is something his father and agent, Francisco, conveyed to the club and both Zidane and Madrid showed ‘understanding’ about the situation. Indeed, the Frenchman promised not to stand in the way of a departure.

However, Odegaard was quicker to ask for an exit and did so, thus ‘closing the door’ on Isco, who will have to wait until June to sort out a move away.

Since then his situation has not improved and AS say there is now a ‘total divorce’ between the player and Zidane, who has dealt Isco ‘humiliation’ by playing youngsters instead of him.

This happened recently in the clash with Getafe, which is seen as ‘definitive evidence’ that there is a complete and irrevocable break between the two parties.

In fact, this was the third time Isco has been snubbed of late, and it is felt Zidane is sending a clear signal to the player about his station.

They say Isco wanted to leave in the winter market but couldn’t due to a lack of offers, with a permanent exit more complicated than a loan and thus nobody willing to do the deal everyone wanted.

Indeed, Isco was the first to ask to leave, and it’s claimed he wouldn’t have taken that step if he wasn’t certain that the ‘no more solutions’.

In other words, Isco is absolutely certain that he has no future at Real Madrid while Zidane is in charge and there is plenty of evidence to prove that point, including the snub against Getafe.

Now, to be clear there is no mention of Everton or any interest but given the previous reports, it’s almost inevitable they’ll be linked once again.

The deal is certainly there to be done too, with Madrid’s finances meaning that the Blues could potentially get themselves a bargain deal like they did with Rodriguez.

That’s just speculation on our part, but if you happen to see a re-emergence of this rumour again, you know at least one part is true: Isco wants out of Madrid.
