Everton and Newcastle United are the two teams ‘most interested’ in Aaron Ramsey, according to Calciomercato.it.

The midfielder has three appearances to his name this season and featured only once since the end of September. He is not included in Massimiliano Allegri’s long term plans at Juventus.

Allegri wants to help the Turin club return to the top, and to do that he wants new players in the coming windows. The Serie A side, however, must lighten their squad before bringing in reinforcements.

The 30-year-old is the first name on the Old Lady’s list when it comes to offloading players. His exit will help the Italian club lighten their wage bill since the former Arsenal man has a ‘monstrous’ salary.

The Wales international has a market in the Premier League, where the Toffees are believed to be keen to sign him.

Calciomercato.it points out Juventus have an ‘excellent relationship’ with the Merseyside club. This may favour Everton to beat Newcastle for Ramsey’s signature, provided the Magpies don’t tempt Ramsey by offering a better financial package.

Whether this is hope from Juventus that Everton are keen, and therefore it being played out in the Italian media, or genuine Toffees interest remains to be seen.
