Everton are among the clubs in the picture to sign Red Star Belgarde’s Silas Katompa Mvumpa in the winter market, according to a report from Germany.
Last month, the Serbian side took the winger from VfB Stuttgart on a loan deal with an option to buy. He has scored two goals from five games, including two in the Champions League against Benfica and Inter Milan.
According to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, several clubs are interested in the 26-year-old and Everton are tagged.
He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say Silas Katompa Mvumpa could leave the Serbian club in January. There’s a €10m release clause and Plettenberg claims Red Star Belgrade would receive it and not Stuttgart.
When discussing the DR Congo international’s interested parties, the Toffees and Villarreal are mentioned. The journalist doesn’t provide any insight into whether the 26-year-old is willing to join Everton or the La Liga side, in the event they decide to activate his clause.
The Bundesliga side have inserted a 10-15% sell-on clause if Silas Katompa Mvumpa is sold in the next window.
Everton have time to take necessary steps, should they want to buy the player in January.
