Albert Gudmundsson spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Fiorentina. The Florence club have decided against signing the versatile attacker permanently and Everton is being reported.
Currently contracted to Genoa, the 28-year-old scored six times for Fiorentina and was often criticised for his inconsistent performances across the campaign.
His future lies elsewhere and Tuttomercatoweb have looked at where the Iceland international can end up this summer. The report claims Everton are one of the candidates to land the forward and their interest ‘should not be underestimated’.
Gian Piero Gasperini would also like to sign Gudmundsson at AS Roma and Bologna are monitoring the player’s situation closely. TMW believe that Gudmundsson has never hidden his desire to seek a move to England and in fact, playing in the Premier League can present a ‘dream’ for him.
That would obviously be a boost to any Everton interest.
Everything can hinge on whether the Toffees come forward for player or not, with Genoa likely to look for a sale.
