Everton do not have a ‘strong interest’ in Torino striker Andrea Belotti despite rumours to the contrary.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say that, according to their information, the Blues are not keen on signing the Italian this summer.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been heavily linked with the Torino striker in recent months, with a report last week indicating they had already seen a €45m bid rejected.
It was believed they would be returning with a second bid at some point, with reports claiming that Ancelotti had identified Belotti as the man who could help push Everton forward.
Calciomercato.it dispute that, though, and say despite the talk of an approach from Ancelotti and Everton, they have been told that there is no ‘strong interest’ from the Toffees at this moment in time.
That would make sense, with it always seeming doubtful that Everton would spend such a sum on a striker given they have Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Moise Kean and Richarlison upfront at present.
There are more pressing needs elsewhere in the squad, and it was always dubious that Ancelotti would be spending a vast sum on Belotti given that situation.
Everton’s funds are not unlimited, and it is more likely they will be spending their money elsewhere first before even considering such a move.
