Everton are ‘intent’ on signing Robin Olsen on a permanent deal from Roma this summer when his loan deal expires.
The Swedish goalkeeper has been on loan at Goodison Park since the summer when Everton brought him in to provide sterner competition to Jordan Pickford.
That is something he has done, proving to be an able number two and more than capable replacement for the England goalkeeper when called upon.
Indeed, it’s believed he’s made a big enough impression on Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti that he’d like to keep him long-term and Forza Roma back that up today.
They look at the goalkeeper situation at the Italian club and state that there ‘no chance’ of Olsen staying because Everton are ‘intent’ on ‘redeeming’ the Swede come the end of the season.
There’s no mention of the price they’re willing to pay or if negotiations have been started on that front, just that their aim is to keep him long-term.
That appears to put an end to recent suggestions he won’t be staying, although the decision will undoubtedly be Olsen’s to make.
After his recent home break-in, there’s every chance he’d rather not stay in England, but if that isn’t the case, it seems Everton are more than happy to keep him.
