Fotomac today report Everton are insistent on a deal to sign Domagoj Vida from Besiktas, and the Premier League club are set to open talks in the near future.
After his good performances for Croatia during the World Cup it’s reported that the Croatian is a target for a host of Premier League clubs including Leicester City and Everton, Fulham and West Ham United.
According to Fotomac, Everton and Besiktas have a good relationship because of Cenk Tosun’s transfer to Merseyside club in the last window, and the Toffees are hoping to use this to their advantage in their bid to sign the 28 year old defender.
It’s claimed offers in the region of €13m have been tabled for Besiktas for the player, but the origin of the offers isn’t disclosed in this report.
Besiktas president Fikret Orman is said to be happy to wait until the end of the World Cup and there’s a genuine feeling in the Turkish media Besiktas are open to negotiating with clubs for the player.
Vida is contracted to the Turkish giants until June 2022.
