Everton have made an offer for Sparta Prague full-back Angelo Preciado and are ‘insistent’ on getting a deal done for him.

That’s according to journalist Safak Malatya, who reports that Everton have stepped up their efforts to get the player.

According to his information, Everton have offered Sparta Prague €7.5m plus bonuses for the 26-year-old defender, as well as offering him an annual salary of €2.5m per year.

They are ‘insistent’ on getting a deal done for him as they continue to reshape Sean Dyche’s squad and hopefully avoid another relegation battle next season.

A right-back now appears to be among their priorities, with Nathan Patterson continuing to struggle with injury issues, Seamus Coleman coming close to the end of his career and Ben Godfrey having moved to Atalanta.

They’ve been linked to several options and Preciado can now be added to the list, with Malatya r reporting a bid has been submitted to Sparta Prague.

Preciado has only been with the Czech team since last summer when he made a €2m move from KRC Genk but managed three goals and six assists in 28 games in all competitions for both teams last season. Everton appear to have taken notice and have now made their move.

The question is why Malatya would know but it appears his information on the matter comes from the fact that Besiktas were also looking at the defender this summer.

They now appear to have been overtaken by the Toffees, although we’ll wait for more information on the potential move rather than getting excited at this point.
