Everton are one of the sides who have ‘repeatedly spied’ on Hellas Verona defender Jackson Tchatchoua ahead of the summer transfer window.

That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Calcio Napoli 24, who report that Everton are one of several sides to show an interest in the full-back.

The newspaper reports that many clubs have tested the waters for the 23-year-old in the last few months, with a move looking likely in the summer.

Everton and Marseille are the sides to have sent their scouts from abroad and have ‘repeatedly spied’ on the defender in Verona’s games.

There’s competition in Italy for him, though, with Udinese already making an attempt to sign him in the January transfer window. They were ready to pay €8m at that point. Verona wouldn’t have accepted that, as they want more.

Napoli and AC Milan have asked for information in recent months too but are yet to make any definitive move for the defender.

Everton are firmly in the mix and have been watching Tchatchoua for a while. Indeed, their interest goes back at least a year, with Everton having been linked consistently with him since year.

They still need a right back so a move would make sense, although it remains to be seen if he remains a target now Kevin Thelwell and his transfer team have been replaced by the Friedkin Group.
