As you will be well aware by now, Roma in Italy have an interest in Moise Kean.

The news started picking up pace after it was announced the young forward had been fined by Everton for turning up late to a team meeting, which sent alarm bells ringing in Italy as a sign their exciting prospect was struggling to adapt in England.

That might be the case, and his start at Goodison Park has been mediocre at best, yet there seems to be very little interest from the Premier League side (at least from what has been coming out of England) to part ways with their summer acquisition.

This hasn’t stopped the Italian media, of course, as they continue to push the idea Kean could return to Italy in January, and Corriere dello Sport are the main culprits, running two separate stories on Sunday and Monday.

Their weekend edition explained that Roma’s financial status midway through the season would see them rely on a loan with a view to buy, with the initial expenditure being as minimal as possible, and a right to acquire the player permanently in the summer.

They then claim Everton would be ‘happy’ to send Kean back to Italy, but would instead require an ‘obligation to buy’, which the Serie A side can’t commit to as they have no idea what Patrik Schick’s future is made of at RB Leipzig.

Monday’s edition push a similar story, but it’s a bit vaguer, as they simply state Kean ‘could arrive on a loan with a view to buy at €22-23m’.

That seems unlikely as we can’t see Everton wanting to make a loss so soon on a young exciting prospect, regardless of whether or not it would help him make Italy’s squad for the 2020 Euros.

Roma’s alternative in all this is Real Madrid’s Mariano Diaz, who would bring in a bit more experience than Kean, but would also require a bit more adapting time since the young Italian already knows Serie A well.

It’s still in the early stages, with no talks having taken place as of yet between the two sides (none that are being reported, at least), so we’ll have to wait and see what happens for now.
