Besiktas president Fikret Orman has spoken to Turkish TV channel TrtSpor about the situation with Everton target Oguzhan Ozyakup.
The Turkey international has been linked with a move to Goodison Park in the next window after claims the Premier League side are lining up a bid for the player, but Fenerbache are also reported ot be interested in the 25 year old.
Sprox have reported on comments Orman made to TrtSpor when quizzed about Ozyakup’s potential transfer to local rivals Fenerbahce: “No, an absolute no. He’s our captain and we want him to stay. It’s simple as that.”
Ozyakup has yet to commit his long term future to Besiktas, and Everton could look to take advantage of the situation in the next window.
There were claims last week Everton are preparing a cut price offer of €13m in January, and are ready to open talks with the Turkish champions.
If Everton fail to get a deal done in the next window they can speak to Ozyakup in the new year with regards to a pre contract agreement, and the possibility of signing him on a free transfer next summer.
Everton will be boosted by the comments from Orman, who clearly doesn’t want to see his player join a Turkish rival.
