Everton are ‘in the front row’ for Rennes midfielder Benjamin Bourigeaud but face competition from Fiorentina for his signature.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who say the race is heating up for the 28-year-old Frenchman.
They report that Fiorentina are keen to add a ‘quality midfielder’ to Vincenzo Italiano’s squad this summer, and Bourigeaud is a name they’re keen on.
The Italian side are holding ‘ongoing contacts’ for the player, with Rennes needing a sale as the player is out of contract in 2023 and yet to sign a new deal.
Bourigeaud has also been approached by Lazio as a possible replacement for Luis Alberto, while there is also interest in the Premier League.
On that front, Everton are ‘in the front row’ for his signature, although there is no mention of whether they have held contacts with Rennes or the player.
Frank Lampard is keen to bolster his midfield this summer and has been linked to the likes of Morgan Gibbs White, Tino Anjorin and several others.
It seems Bourigeaud, another central midfielder, can be added to that list, and it remains to be seen if this potential move develops further, particularly with Fiorentina keen too.
