Everton remain at the front the queue for Aaron Ramsey, who Juventus are more determined than ever to get rid of in the January transfer window.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who cover the midfielder’s future and how ‘something is moving’ in regards to him leaving Italy.

Ramsey hasn’t appeared for Juventus since October 20th, having failed to impress Max Allegri or convince him he has a future under his leadership.

It’s clear to everyone involved that the two need to part ways, and so one of Ramsey’s agents arrived at the club this week to ‘take stock’ of the situation with his client and them meet with Juventus’ leadership to discuss their options.

They’ll assess what can be done in January, and Ramsey has already been linked with a return to the Premier League, where he is ‘always liked’.

In that regard, ‘Everton are ‘in first place’ and ready to make a move, which has been suggested this week.

A report yesterday indicated they are interested in Ramsey if they can get him on a free transfer, something Juventus are willing to sanction and had even held first contacts with his agent about a potential move to Goodison Park.

CM.it don’t back that up beyond saying they’re at the front of the queue, but they do echo the sentiment that Juventus want to ‘get rid’ of his ‘heavy’ €7m a year contract, which runs until June 2023.

It’s hard to see that being a figure Everton can offer anywhere near given their own financial problems but we’re yet to hear what sort of deal they’re considering and it’s not offered up here either.

What is made clear is that Ramsey’s future is ‘increasingly far from Juventus’ and the prospect of a move in January is steadily building.

He will be allowed to ‘change jersey‘ if the offer is there and a decision will be made ‘in the coming weeks‘ on that score.

Indeed, it’s sure to happen once his agents sit down with the Italian side, something it seems Everton will be keeping a close eye on.
