Everton are ‘first in line’ for Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic this summer, with the Spaniards willing to sanction a loan deal.
That’s according to Serbian newspaper Blic, who cover the striker’s future today and how Everton are leading the race for his signature.
They explain that Jovic will be moved on from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, having long been out of the picture at the club.
They’re keen to get him off the wage bill in whatever way possible, particularly because he earns €100,000 a week and that money could be better spent elsewhere.
The hope is to find a suitor, and fortunately, there is already one club who are very keen on a move, and that is Everton.
According to Blic’s information, they are ‘first in line’ to sign Jovic this summer if they can avoid relegation this season.
Should that happen, they are planning a ‘complete renovation’ of the team, and Frank Lampard is insisting on a move for Jovic.
He wanted to buy the striker for Chelsea in 2019, but Real Madrid won the race for his signature at that moment in time. He now ‘wants to correct the mistake’ and bring the 24-year-old to Goodison Park.
Real Madrid are asking for €30m for the striker, and Everton have the money for that deal, but Real Madrid are also willing to sanction a loan move if necessary just so they can get Jovic off of the payroll.
That would suit Everton much better, but either way, there is a deal to be done, so long as they can avoid relegation and start the renovation of their squad afterwards.
