Everton ‘have their eye on’ Wolfsburg youngster Aster Vranckx ahead of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the Blues are watching the 19-year-old midfielder closely ahead of a possible move.
Vranckx is part of the next generation of Belgian talent making their way up the ranks, having starred as a youngster for KV Mechelen before making a £7.2m move to Wolfsburg in July 2021.
He initially struggled to find his best form with the German club but has started to establish himself this year, with Voetbal Primeur reporting that he is now ‘making his big breakthrough’ in the Bundesliga.
They say the young midfielder is now ‘convincing the club every’ week, something that has ‘already attracted a lot of attention’ from foreign clubs.
There is a growing belief that he could be ready for a ‘nice transfer’ in the near future, and Everton are among the clubs who are ‘closely following’ the midfielder’s development.
They relay the report from Calciomercato and how Everton ‘hope to strengthen’ their squad with Vranckx but add that it remains to be seen whether Wolfsburg would do a deal.
They only signed Vranckx from Mechelen last summer and paid €8m to do so as well, so clearly believe in the player. There’s also the fact he’s now a regular key performer in their team.
Both suggest they would be more than opposed to a transfer, and Everton ‘will have to pay heavily’ if they want to secure his signature.
