On Tuesday, El Telégrafo reported a Chelsea approach for Moisés Caicedo after Independiente del Valle general manager Santiago Morales confirmed Manchester United haven’t made contact over signing the midfielder.

Everton have now joined the Blues in the chase for the Ecuador international.

That’s according to Diario Extra, and their title reads ‘Moisés Caicedo, between Everton and MLS’.

It’s claimed the Toffees and an unnamed Major League Soccer side have ‘entered the fight’ for the 19-year-old, who became ‘famous’ following his stellar performances for club and country in recent months.

According to the outlet, Independiente del Valle continue to negotiate their prized asset’s sale in the ongoing window and are ‘waiting’ to see which club will put the most money on the table to secure Caicedo’s services.

Morales has been speaking to various media outlets in the past few days, and he has been constantly dismissing the United rumours.

Ecuadorian radio station Mundo Deportivo EC were the latest to interview the Independiente del Valle chief, and confirmed receiving two proposals for Caicedo.

“We have received a proposal from a European club for (Caicedo). We are also looking at an MLS proposal,” he said.

“Let’s hope that no later than Thursday we can close the negotiation for Moisés Caicedo,” Morales concluded.
