Everton have been linked to Nikola Kalinic several times this summer, and those links have been kicked off in Italy once again.
Sky Italia, via Calciomercato, report a €25m offer from Everton. It’s not made clear whether this offer has already been made, or is about to be submitted.
Kalinic has been hanging on for a dream move to summer big-spenders AC Milan, but if that doesn’t look likely to happen, it’s explained the forward would consider a move to Everton.
In March, Everton interest was reported in Italy, with Kalinic presented as an option to replace the then set to depart Romelu Lukaku. Fiorentina were prepared to sell for less than €30m, according to the claims, and West Ham were also credited with interest in the player.
Links have popped up sporadically since, but nothing especially strong for Everton, and Kalinic has seemed likelier to remain in Italy, whether that’s at Fiorentina or elsewhere.
There’s every chance Everton are being used to pressure Milan to match the €25m, and get a deal done for Kalinic ahead of other targets.
