Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu has been heavily linked with AC Milan over the past week. it’s been one of the biggest transfer rumours in the Italian sport media, and already countless claims have been made about the situation.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reported a few days ago that Milan had faxed a loan offer to Everton and were awaiting their response. Ronald Koeman has publicly said Everton can’t let Deulofeu go because the squad is weak in his position, but it’d be no surprise if the Dutchman was working to bring someone in himself.
AC Milan’s Adriano Galliani has now spoken publicly about the situation. The long serving sporting director has confirmed interest from the Italian club and an approach, with Calciomercato quoting Galliani as saying: “AC Milan has already demonstrated its will. It’s up to Everton to decide.”
Deulofeu hasn’t enjoyed any prominence at all under Koeman, with the Everton manager clearly preferring other options. A loan to Milan may well be attractive for the Spamiard, and he could team up with former Liverpool player Suso.
