Back in May, we covered a story from Foot Mercato claiming that Bournemouth and Fulham were interested in signing Romain Faivre from Lyon.
The wide midfielder spent the season on loan at Lorient, where he enjoyed himself, and that caught the attention of a few Premier League clubs, to which we can now add Everton and Crystal Palace.
This comes courtesy of the same Foot Mercato, who provide an update on the situation, explaining that Lorient want to make the move permanent.
The player will return to Lyon since there was no option to buy in the original deal, but his club also need money and are open to a sale.
It’s explained the club ‘will not let him go for less than €15m’, making him rather affordable for the likes of Fulham and Crystal Palace, but perhaps not for Everton.
The Toffees’ financial struggles are well known, and it remains to be seen how much money they actually have to spend this summer to bolster Sean Dyche’s squad.
As Crystal Palace still don’t have a manager to replace Roy Hodgson, they might wait a bit longer before making serious moves on the transfer market, leaving Fulham as the only club out of the three knowing exactly what they can do in the next few weeks.
Lyon ‘will go towards the club offering the most’, and this is when Everton, the Eagles and the Craven Cottage side are mentioned as interested parties.
The 24-year-old made 17 appearances for Lorient after this loan move in January, scoring five goals and assisting his teammates three times.
