Everton could be set to rival Crystal Palace for Walter Benitez, with the goalkeeper currently in London for talks.
That’s according to Eindhovens Dagblad, who report that Crystal Palace, Everton and various other clubs are interested in the PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper.
The newspaper state that Benitez is currently talking to multiple Premier League clubs, ahead of becoming a free agent at the end of the months.
The 32-year-old has seemingly decided to leave PSV Eindhoven at the end of his contract and reports in England yesterday stated that Crystal Palace were making a move for him.
ED, though, report that while the goalkeeper is in talks with Palace, he has more options on the table. Everton are one of the ones in the market for him and he possibly has interest from other competitions too.
A move to either Crystal Palace or Everton may be a surprising one given they have England duo Dean Henderson and Jordan Pickford as their established number ones.
Benitez, though, is highly thought of, having earned praise throughout his time at PSV, where several managers have spoken highly of him. He also has a list of honours to back that up.
That is why there is increased competition for his signature, with the Argentina international expected to make a decision about his future soon.
