For the past month, Everton have been linked to Fenerbahce defender Kim Min-jae, following previously links over a year ago.
It was first reports from Turkey which said the Toffees were keen on landing the player this summer. Then a former scout from the Goodison Park side talked more about the long-term interest.
It turns out Everton are once again mentioned in a story about the 25-year-old, even though the claims from Italy are not very positive for the Premier League club.
Corriere Dello Sport writes that Napoli are working seriously to get the signing done. It’s said they ‘guaranteed the payment’ of Kim Min-jae’s €20m release clause and are in constant contact with his entourage.
The outlet takes claims from France to say Rennes are also interested in the player, then add that Everton ‘think about him’. However, they make it clear the Serie A side lead the race, quoting club director Cristiano Giuntoli, who claimed he’s ‘always confident’ when it comes to these situations.
Since the Toffees know how much it’d take to sign Kim Min-jae from Fenerbahce, the battle seems like a matter of who’d make a more attracting offer to the player himself.
