Everton have shown an interest in Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini as they look for competition for Jordan Pickford this summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who name Everton among several clubs to have ‘thought about’ a move for Gollini, who has some experience of England having been in Manchester United’s system from 2012-2014, and with Aston Villa from 2016-18.
They explain that he has found himself suddenly and unexpectedly down the pecking order at Atalanta after they bought fellow goalkeeper Juan Musso in a €20m deal.
It means Gollini may now be forced to look for a move elsewhere, and while there have been no ‘concrete offers’ as yet, there has been plenty of interest.
He has ‘received inquiries and offers’ from several different sides, including Inter Milan, Roma, AC Milan and Lazio.
There is also interest from the Premier League, however, with Everton and Tottenham said to have ‘thought about’ a move as well.
That makes plenty of sense, given both sides need a new number two for Jordan Pickford and Hugo Lloris respectively.
There’s no suggestion of a serious move at this point, nor is Atalanta’s asking price mentioned, just that both sides have thought about it.
