Everton have kickstarted their summer transfer business over the past week or so, with the Toffees looking to close multiple deals so Sean Dyche has signings in for preseason.
They’re continuing in that theme, with L’Equipe reporting on Monday after that Habib Diarra has now come firmly into the Premier League club’s sights.
The 20-year-old has a contract with Strasbourg lasting until June 2028 and L’Equipe report the Ligue 1 side have repeatedly said he won’t be moving this summer. However, the French newspaper don’t seem convinced over their ability to turn down an ‘English offer’.
That’s when it’s stated Everton could submit a bid for Diarra ‘in the coming days’. According to the report, the Toffees have been interested in the youngster for months and have therefore been working behind the scenes to try and bring him in.
Whether that means Everton have been in touch with his entourage isn’t made clear, but that would certainly be the assumption given it’s how clubs tend to work these days.
Diarra made 35 appearances last season, in a variety of midfield roles, scoring five goals and adding three assists.
