Everton are continuing to be linked with a move for Liverpool forward Divock Origi, but face competition from Besiktas, and are ‘active’ in the race for the player.
The Belgian international in recent days has been linked with a move to Goodison Park, along with Galatasaray.
Aksam today report Besiktas are still interested in Origi and that the Istanbul club are looking for a loan deal with Liverpool.
Like Galatasaray, Besiktas are keen to bring in a No.9 after seeing Cenk Tosun and Álvaro Negredo leave in the past ten months. It’s reported the Super Lig side are hopeful of a deal with Liverpool after the transfer business they conducted for Loris Karius in the summer.
However, it’s claimed Everton will provide the ‘the biggest obstacle’ to both Turkish clubs in the race to sign Origi. With Cenk Tosun scoring just one Premier League this season, the slant is that Marco Silva could look to bolster his attacking options in January.
Whether Liverpool would sell to their local rival remains to be seen but what it’s apparent Origi needs to start getting games for the sake of his future.
