Everton are ‘back in the race’ for Barcelona goalkeeper Neto, who wants to leave the Camp Nou this summer.
That’s according to Sport, who say the goalkeeper has made it clear he does not want to stay where he is any longer.
The newspaper explain that Neto has wanted to leave Barcelona ‘for many months’ and this was communicated to the club a year and a half ago.
However, no interesting offers have arrived for both Barcelona and the player to seal his departure at this moment in time.
The Blaugrana club are asking for €14m, but nobody wants to pay that, and they would now be open to a loan deal with an option to buy included.
The player and the club are determined to seal something this summer, and Everton have re-emerged as suitors for him.
They were linked in the past, and Sport saying they are now planning a change in goal after Jordan Pickford’s ‘poor year’. Any transfer will depend on whether they are relegated or not, though.
His agents are working on the potential move and ‘sounding out the Premier League’ to find out who may be interested.
Everton is a potential deal as they have ‘a lot of input’ at Goodison Park, and the club are preparing for a ‘revolution’ of the squad if they manage to avoid relegation.
