Everton and Aston Villa are ‘closely interested’ in a move for Galatasaray defender Christian Luyindama, who has just been put up for transfer.

That’s according to Sampiy, who say the Super Lig club are willing to accept €10m for the DR Congo defender.

They explain that Galatasaray’s management recently ‘approved’ a transfer for the 27-year-old, who has been with the club since 2019 when he signed from Standard Liege in Belgium.

They will consider selling the centre back if they receive an offer of at least €10m and it’s claimed that Everton and Aston Villa are interested in a move.

Galatasaray are now waiting for an ‘official offer’ for the defender, with them hoping to raise funds for their own transfer business via a sale.

Whether Everton or Aston Villa will make such a bid, though, remains to be seen.

An offer from the Toffees seems unlikely given they have Michael Keane, Yerry Mina, Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey as centre back options already.

Villa are also well stacked when it comes to centre backs, with Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa, Bjorn Engels and Kortney Hause currently in Dean Smith’s squad.

Engels, though, has been linked with a move back to Belgium recently and perhaps if he were to depart that would open up the possibility of a move for Luyindama.
