Real Madrid reportedly have switched their attention towards Newcastle star Moussa Sissoko after deciding against signing Paul Pogba.
Sissoko is expected to leave the Championship side this summer, with several clubs interested in him.
According to Spanish newspaper AS on Wednesday, Newcastle want Moussa Sissoko to request a transfer to Real Madrid.
AS say there is an ‘open war’ for Sissoko. Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Everton have already contacted Newcastle for the Frenchman.
Real Madrid, however, need to sell the likes of James Rodriguez or Mateo Kovacic before moving for Sissoko, who AS believe might cost around €30m.
It is reported Newcastle and Rafael Benitez are well aware that Sissoko wants to move to a bigger club.
Earlier, Benitez confirmed the club have received offers for Sissoko, but they don’t meet their valuation of the player.
