Ahead of the Christmas break, Adrien Rabiot had been gaining some prominence at Juventus and he’s expected to start the match against Cagliari this afternoon as Serie A sides return to action.
Injuries and suspensions have hit Juve’s overly packed midfield, so the former PSG player is going to be needed.
Yet another free transfer punt from the Turin club, Rabiot has taken time settling in, yet if Everton have their way he’ll be whisked away quickly.
There’s been several reports about interest from Carlo Ancelotti’s side, and Corriere dello Sport carry that on today. Tottenham and Arsenal are said to have taken ‘concrete steps’ towards the player, but it’s ‘above all Everton’ who are interested.
The Toffees are ‘especially’ keen and it’s again stated they’d be willing to pay for a loan (around €5m until the end of the season), cover the player’s wages, and take a buying option for the summer.
Right now, the Italian slant is against an exit, but things could change as the month goes on. Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked for years and it’s possible they’re just thrown in for that reason.
The moral of this story is to sign quality free agents, because even when they may not work out perfectly there’s usually a club ready to give you a profit.
