It seems that, the closer we get to the end of the season, the more insistent the local Naples press are that Allan will leave the Serie A club.
Take Il Mattino, for example, who simply state ‘this summer, the Brazilian will go away’.
That gives us an idea of where things stand for the midfielder in the south of Italy, and Everton remain the likeliest destination for next season, as a reunion with Carlo Ancelotti keeps getting mentioned.
Corriere dello Sport are the ones talking about it on Tuesday, echoing claims from Corriere del Mezzogiorno that the Goodison Park club will be there in some shape or form in the summer.
They state Everton, through Ancelotti, ‘tried it in January, with the prospect of repeating the offer in June’, and that the ‘hypothesis of finding Carletto is concrete’ in the upcoming transfer window.
They also add that a deal could be made ‘in tandem with Lozano’, but that a move for Allan appears to be viable ‘regardless of Chucky’.
We’ll push the mentions of the Mexico international to one side for now, as they appear to be simply suggestive, but when it comes to the Brazilian, there’s never smoke without a fire, and since he hasn’t renewed, and doesn’t seem close to doing so, all this talk of an exit seems very plausible.
