Everton are again showing an interest in defender Jean-Clair Todibo but will have to convince Nice into a sale.

That’s according to Var-Matin, who say Everton are one of several clubs showing interest in the centre-back.

They explain that Todido is the ‘subject of much interest’ this summer, with Everton one of several clubs to be named among the interested parties.

That means Nice will ‘have to fight hard’ to convince the player to stay at the club for at least another season.

Foot Mercato also report that there is interest in the defender, although they don’t specifically mention Everton. They do say that Nice intend to keep him this summer.

Todibo being named as a possible target for Everton is nothing new, with him heavily linked throughout 2020 when he was still at Barcelona.

He never ended up at Goodison Park but instead moved to Nice last summer, where he made 40 appearances in all competitions last season.

It seems he’s a player who remains on their radar, and Var-Matin say they’re interested in a move this summer.

The likes of AC Milan, Napoli, Newcastle, Manchester United and Sevilla, are also named as suitors, though, so the competition is fierce if they do turn their interest into something more concrete.
