It was only a matter of time before more English clubs were dragged into the chase for Sandro Ramirez. The Malaga striker is in sparkling form and clubs are also attracted by his low release clause.

Sandro moved to Malaga on a free transfer from Barcelona last summer, and one of his conditions was to have a release clause which would make a transfer easy if he impressed. That clause is around €6m, something confirmed by Sandro himself last week, and it increasingly looks like a bargain.

Everton are one of a number of English clubs linked by Spanish newspaper AS on Wednesday. The club ‘have already shown an interest’ in signing Sandro, and would be positioning themselves ahead of the summer transfer window.

Regardless of whether Romelu Lukaku leaves Everton in the summer window, Koeman is expected to strengthen his options upfront. Signing Sandro for just €6m would allow more Screen Shot 2017-05-03 at 08.15.39money to be spent elsewhere, and the young Spaniard isn’t on huge wages either.

The 21 year old has scored 13 league goals so far this season, crucial for Malaga, and a big reason they’re now safe from relegation. With 6 goals and an assist in his last 6 games, Sandro is very much the man of the moment.

It’s going to be difficult to convince Sandro on a move, he’ll surely want some guarantees about first team football. Should Everton be able to win out, and Koeman could use the shared Barcelona history he has as a lever in negotiations, then Sandro could turn out to be a bargain.
