Everton’s deal for Napoli midfielder Allan could take at least a week to finalise, with the two clubs yet to find an agreement.

The Blues have been locked in negotiations with the Italian side for several weeks over a deal for the Brazilian, who they’ve courted since the January transfer window.

A deal has steadily been getting closer, particularly after Allan reportedly made it clear he wants to reunite with Carlo Ancelotti on Merseyside.

The two parties are yet to agree on an asking price, though, with reports today indicating that Everton are yet to match Napoli’s demands of €30m plus €5m in bonuses.

The reports have indicated that a deal was getting closer and closer, something Everton fans will be particularly keen to happen given the number of claims they’ve had to put up with over the last few weeks.

It seems, though, they will have to wait a little bit longer, with Italian journalist Ciro Venerato providing bad news on that front.

“For Allan at Everton it will be necessary to wait about a week, there is still no agreement with Everton, but this marriage will take place,” he told Calcio Napoli 24 TV.

That is certainly not the news Everton fans will have been wanting to hear given how long this transfer saga has rumbled on already.

As has been the case for a while, it seems this deal requires Everton to make that final step and give Napoli what they want in terms of their asking price.

Until that happens, it seems the negotiations will remain stuck where they are, and we’ll have plenty more updates on the situation in the interim, with most likely to come from the man who has always got something to say, Mr Venerato.
