Italian website Calcio Mercato comes up with some updates on Thibaut Courtois’ situation at Chelsea today.
The outlet claims the goalkeeper is still to give the Blues a final answer on whether will he sign a new contract for the club or not.
That delay creates a lot of expectations on the transfer market, both for Chelsea to sign a replacement, as for the clubs who are interested in signing Courtois.
Calcio Mercato says the delay is the reason why the Stamford Bridge side have already asked about Roma’s goalkeeper Alisson, who’s also a target for Real Madrid.
But the Spanish side are also interested in Courtois, having made ‘concrete steps’ to sign the player. Even though there’s only one year left on his contract, Chelsea are said to be demanding €50m.
The website says that ‘even’ Liverpool are interested in Courtois, which makes it all the more complicated with Jurgen Klopp’s side also linked to Alisson.
The Belgian international is thought to prefer a move to Spain over Liverpool or anywhere else.
Even though there’s apparently no interest from Italian clubs in Courtois, Calcio Mercato may have been seeking some information on Alisson’s situation and that’s how they’ve come up with this.
