Another day, another lovely story about N’Golo Kanté, the player no one seems to be able to say mean things about.

This time, it’s France Football who went to speak to those close to him, who saw him grow up and know exactly who he is off the football pitch, including his former teammate at Caen, Alaeddine Yahia, who recently discussed Kanté’s Mario Kart exploits to RMC Sport.

However, the topic was a bit different for this piece, as the 36-year-old, discussed the defensive midfielder’s personality outside of his video game cheekiness.

He said: “In his mind, the most important thing isn’t to be a good footballer, but to be a good man. He has human kind’s generosity, you are obliged to love him. Even the Devil turns around when he sees him. He has a humility few people possess.”

It seems like everyone who knows him are trying to one up each other on how nice they can make Kanté sound, which is in itself proof they aren’t making things up.

Trying to stay away as much from the limelight as possible, the 27-year-old still finds himself unable to do so, most recently hitting the news for playing FIFA and watching Match of the Day with a family in London after he missed his Eurostar for Paris.

As his friend, Baptiste Cousseau, says in the piece: “To everyone who adores him, I want to say that if you knew the man we know, you’d be moved to tears for what is happening to him. He deserves all these honours, this love. He deserves all of it so much.”
