Liverpool’s Anfield stadium is known around the football world for having a great atmosphere for the big occasions. This season Jurgen Klopp has been frustrated at times because the support hasn’t lived up to his expectations, but there are far quieter stadiums at the top end of English football.
Despite that, former Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones believes even Anfield can’t compare to what he’s experiencing at Feyenoord’s De Kuip. Jones played on Sunday as the Dutch side beat rivals PSV Eindhoven, and he was very impressed with the support received.
Feyenoord won the match 2-1 and are sitting happy at the top of the Eredivisie table, with PSV now 11 points behind them in third place.
After the victory Jones took time out to praise the fans and is quotes by Soccer Nieuws as saying: “I’ve played in many stadiums and have experienced major competitions, but the atmosphere as it was on Sunday at De Kuip, I have never experienced before. That was better than I’ve often experienced with Liverpool at Anfield Road.”
Jones is going through a good period in his career and will be confident he can win the title with Feyenoord this season.
