Liverpool throw-in coach Thomas Gronnemark has spoken to Ajansspor’s Mert Elam about the impact he’s had since arriving at Anfield. In past 12 months the Champions League title holders have used Gronnemark’s methods with some success.
The Ajansspor journalist said he’s followed the Liverpool coach for some time and has been waiting for a chance to finally speak to the Dane.
Speaking about his role with the Premier League club Gronnemark said: “We are doing something very important. Even the ball-boys are educated at Liverpool. We are all very committed.”
The journalist, Elam, brought up comments from Andy Gray, who was negative about the coach, but Gronnemark said he doesn’t care what criticism comes his way: “When you start new things, it’s normal that some people might not be on the same page with you. There are people who are making fun of me because I am the throw-in coach. But usually, these people are supporting Liverpool’s rivals so there’s no problem for me.”
The Danish coach also said he’s expecting there will be more throw-in coaches in the future now that he’s shown what can be achieved.
Gronnemark had previously worked in his home country with a number of Danish Super League clubs before he arrived at Liverpool last September.
