AC Milan could look to make a January move for Lazio attacker Keita Balde Diao, according to claims in the Italian media. The youngster has had his issues in recent weeks with the Serie A side, and was linked with West Bromwich Albion last month.
TMW have revealed AC Milan will step up in their pursuit for Keita in the New Year following their attempts to sign the former Barcelona youth player in the summer. With the recent injection of cash into the club AC Milan’s new sorting director Massimiliano Mirabelli is already looking to the next window, and the Lazio star is on their wanted list.
It’s been reported Lazio are trying to renew Keita’s contract which would include a buyout clause of €25m, but with AC Milan’s new Chinese backing it could be hard for the Roman club to keep hold of the player.
During the last window WBA tabled an offer of €18m to sign Keita just before the transfer deadline. The Premier League side were looking to take advantage of the player’s situation at Lazio, and they hoped to land him with a last minute deal.
However, Lazio were looking for offers in the region of €30m, and subsequently WBA didn’t come back in with an improved offer.
