Dutch giants Ajax, along with Bundesliga sides Hamburg and Werder Bremen are interested in Sheffield Wednesday forward Atdhe Nuhiu, according to claims in the Netherlands. The 27-year-old has been with the Championship side since signing from Rapid Vienna in 2013.

Voetbal Elf have claimed this morning that Ajax could look to move in on Nuhiu before the transfer deadline at the end of this month. The four times champions of Europe are keen to bring in a new centre forward this summer after their prized asset Arkadiusz Milik recently signed for Serie A side Napoli.

Ajax have drawn up a list of 15 strikers they would like to target, and a decision will be made soon over who they are likely to pursuit. However, the Dutch side will face competition from Hamburg and Werder Bremen who are also keen to bolster their attacking options this summer.

Despite the attention from the three major European clubs, Sheffield Wednesday aren’t under pressure to sell the forward as he extended his contract with the club until June 2018 earlier this year.
