A target for José Mourinho at Tottenham, Ben White continues to be just that for the Portuguese manager, who is set to take over at AS Roma once the season ends.
The news appears to have started in England, but it appears Corriere dello Sport somewhat confirm the interest from the Serie A side in the Brighton & Hove Albion star in their Thursday edition.
Looking at what the future holds for AS Roma in the coming months, the newspaper have a short section on potential deals to be done on the transfer market, which is where we find White’s name.
It’s stated ‘an enquiry has been made’ from the Italians’ end in order to see whether a deal could be done, but with reported interest from the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and even Paris Saint-Germain, it all seems very unlikely.
Either way, it’s made clear this is a Mourinho target, as he ‘set his sights’ on the Seagulls star during his time at Tottenham, and that he now wants to ‘bring him to Roma’.
Whether that’s achievable remains to be seen, but with Brighton now safe and sound in the Premier League, it would be very surprising to see Graham Potter agree to part ways with one of his better players.
